Nowadays, most games are supported by the console. But first of all, you need to know what a console is? Console is a special built-in or required installation program for input/output information by setting text information (code for games). That is, it is a text interface for the user. In software products, the console – a special shell, through which you can control all sorts of system parameters.

The console also exists in the games. With this tool, you can optimize your game, change the gameplay, add different objects, characters, features, up to improving the graphics of the gameplay.

Enabling the console in games
Usually turning on (activating) the console in the games is not a difficult process. But it is worth remembering that the introduction of complex commands you can spoil the game, and the further passage of the story can be disrupted. Other possible consequences can be the exit from the game or failure to launch it. Let’s look at examples of console activation in various games.

Console activation in CS 1.6. To do this, you will need to either click on the “youldu” (letter “e”). Or write “console” in shortcut properties, and then this function will be invoked with the letter “ё”. Then it’s up to you.

• Enabling console in Skyrim is similar to the same operation in CS. To do this, in a running game, press “yould” or scroll down the entire row of numeric keypad to “Backspace”. After this at the bottom of the game screen will fall out a window where you can enter cheats or special commands.
• In the well-known game Heroes Of Might And Magic V the console is also connected. You will need to find a file called “autoexes.cfg” (it is located in the game folder under the name Profile). Opening this file, at the very end enter the line “setvar dev_console_password – schwingedes- setvar dev_console_password – schwingedes-todes todes”. After this save the file, start the game and use the “youlda” key.
• To enable the console in the game Mafia you will need to download a special add-on (there are a lot of assemblies on the Internet) and drop it into the folder with the game. Start the game via the shortcut, press F12 under “freeplay” and the console is ready.
• Fans of Torchlight 2 also need to activate the console. Find the file “settings.txt” (in your documents). Open it, find (with ctrl + f) console 0 and change it to console 1. In the game, you will turn it on by pressing the insert key.
